De Vere Horsley Estate
Hidden away within 70 acres of picturesque parkland, Horsley Estate is the perfect romantic setting for a wedding day. The venue dates back to 1820 and is the ancestral residence of the Lovelace family and home to a long line of notable thinkers. Today, the charming venue provides a beautiful backdrop for the all-important photographs. The intimate grounds, lake and cloisters – with a hidden, secret ornate chapel – are truly memorable.
Horsley Towers, rich with character and charm, give couples full exclusive use of the building boasting three function rooms for your civil ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception along with 28 en suite bedrooms. The Sopwith is a bright and spacious room with a large bay window and can seat up to 120 guests for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast, and up to 200 loved ones for an evening celebration.
The Sopwith also opens up on to the front of house terrace and croquet lawn, ideal for barbecues, a hog roast and evening entertainment.
The atmospheric, oak-panelled Great Hall – with an orchestral gallery and decorated with 150 coats of arms – can seat up to 110 friends and family and looks stunning with twinkling candles or swathed in shafts of summer sunlight. This traditional English banqueting hall can hold up to 120 guests for a civil ceremony, 110 for a sit-down meal and up to 200 revellers for an evening reception.
Finally, The Charles Barry is the perfect room for smaller, more intimate ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. This naturally light room, with an original 18th-century fireplace, can seat up to 40 for a civil ceremony or wedding breakfast and up to 120 loved ones for an evening reception and links on to the bar.
