NATURAL BEAUTY How do I get my skin looking its best in the run-up to my big day, and what products do you recommend for a flawless base? Creating a radiant, fresh complexion isn’t just about what you put onto your skin. To help you achieve a flawless base, you need to consider the following: Firstly, drink plenty of water and take skin supplements to help start you on the right track. I recommend Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C and a Collagen-boosting supplement. Other factors that affect your skin are sleep quality, environmental damages and hormone changes. Always try to achieve between seven and eight hours of sleep in the run-up to your day. I know it can be stressful planning a wedding, but any stress and sleepless nights will show on your skin. When you’re feeling vexed, try to do some gentle breathing exercises or take a walk in nature – your skin will thank you for it. Your daily moisturiser should have an SPF of at least 30 to help protect your skin from the environment. I have always used Arbonne’s skincare range as I know the ingredients are high quality and a small amount goes a long way. My favourite is their AgeWell Daily Moisturiser with SPF. Lastly, if you’ve never had a skincare regime or feel you don’t have time, start small by trying to cleanse and moisturise your face every night before bed. A gentle face wash like The Ordinary’s Squalane Cleanser will remove all your make-up and impurities whilst retaining your skin’s natural moisture. A good night cream is Facetheory’s Relaxing Night Cream M10PRO, as it’s suitable for all skin types and does all the work for you whilst you get a good night’s sleep. Treat yourself to some facials for skin cell renewal, and have a strict skincare regime in the run-up to your big day. Remember, you have to go all in and look after your skin from the inside and out to achieve the best results. Make-up artists can work wonders covering up blemishes with concealers and foundations, but any dry areas are more tricky so remember, happy base, happy face!
