April/May 2021

I’ve worked at Country Wedding Magazines for more than four years and over that time I’ve seen trends come and go, inspirational real weddings and worked with some amazing suppliers. As a result, I thought I’d have a pretty good idea of what I’d want at my own wedding but when my partner, Dave, recently proposed I realised I have absolutely no idea. I’m sure lots of you will agree that the first few weeks of having the ‘engaged’ status and wearing the ring feels a bit surreal, but the endless possibilities are also really exciting. Like so many of you, we’re trying to plan the perfect wedding during a pandemic, so things have been a little unconventional so far with online tours, lots of Skype meetings and E-mails. Its been so wonderful to see first hand how suppliers in the wedding industry are going above and beyond to ensure their couples’ days are special, regardless of the restrictions.

If like me, you’re looking for inspiration, then this issue is perfect for you. We’ve rounded up some of the best photographers, spoken to local entertainers, hair and make-up artists and a host of other talented suppliers. We have three real weddings starting on page 39 and a stunning shoot on page 73 that’s sure to inspire you.

You can submit your wedding or styled shoot via our website or at Melissab@kdmediapublishing.com

I hope you enjoy the issue!

Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa

Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa is an award-winning wedding venue resting on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and West Sussex. This hidden gem is in a private and beautiful setting, combining old world charm with contemporary, elegant décor. While the original 16th-century Tudor house sits at the entrance, the real treat lies beyond the main building in the 22 acres of rural countryside, which includes an outdoor gazebo licensed to perform ceremonies of up to 150 guests. This overlooks a stunning lake and provides breathtaking views of the South Downs countryside and beyond.

In the summer months, the outdoor gazebo, with its picturesque backdrop is the clear favourite for couples hosting their ceremony and drinks reception.

The Meadow provides an outdoor space for traditional lawn games and impressive photo opportunities.

The property boasts several stylish indoor ceremony spaces to cater for both intimate and large celebrations of up to 150 friends and family. The Ivory Suite is the largest and features an impressive sky-view lantern roof, exposed beams and neutral décor throughout, making it easy to dress to suit any theme or colour scheme. Comfortably seating 150 loved ones for a wedding breakfast, the suite can also cater for up to 250 people for the evening reception.

The new Hampton Suite with its high ceilings, exposed brick and neutral tones is licensed for up to 80 nearest and dearest, while those opting for a more intimate celebration can say their vows in the historic Tudor house’s Old Room. Hosting up to 30 guests, this space is full of character, with oak-panelled walls and a decorative fireplace.
