October/November 2020

Welcome to our October/November issue! I feel a bit crazy saying that, how can it be October already, it feels like just yesterday that it was January? I think we can all agree it’s been a crazy year, but it’s been so lovely seeing the Surrey wedding industry come together and help couples power through these tough times.

Whether you’ve recently got engaged – congratulations! – or are re-planning your special day, think of us as your new BFF when it comes to wedding planning. We’re here to support you through every aspect of your day and have put together an issue bursting with inspiration. Our fashion section is full of the latest trends for the whole bridal party, we’ve asked local photographers to send in their favourite images and put together a Q&A feature to help you create the perfect day.

If you’re still looking for a venue, don’t despair, we’ve rounded up some of the best properties in Kingston and Richmond and taken a step back in time to highlight some historic wonders.

We’re always looking for real weddings and styled shoots to feature in the magazine so make sure you submit yours at www.yoursurrey.wedding/get-involved-real-wedding

Enjoy the issue!

Oatlands Park Hotel

Oatlands Park Hotel is a four-star country hotel situated within acres of picturesque parkland. The magnificent grounds were originally the site of a grand Tudor palace built by Henry VIII in 1538. Over the centuries, the house and grounds have been rebuilt and remodelled to create the current premises. The property has been tastefully refurbished to create a modern and contemporary style while still retraining elements of the venue’s original character.

The York Suite is the venue’s largest space and boasts a private bar and kitchen, making it ideal for dry-hire weddings. With a total capacity of 420 guests and with flexible dividers, this room can be adapted to suit any sized wedding.

Alternatively, the Mulberry Suite, with spectacular views overlooking the lake, is available. The room is chic and stylish with high ceilings, large windows and plenty of natural light.

The Cromwell Suite is the newest addition to the hotel, with neutral tones and high ceilings, it’s perfect for small weddings. It has a separate foyer leading into the room that can be used for reception drinks, canapés or as extra space.

Lastly, La Terrazza can be used. With floor-to-ceiling windows and a retractable roof to block out the British weather when necessary, it can accommodate up to 160 loved ones for the ceremony and 250 for the wedding breakfast.
