Millbridge Court reveals some of its favourite ideas for winter weddings: Image 1

With roaring fires, snug blankets, low lighting, warming winter cocktails and more, all combined with the festival spirit, winter is a dreamy time of year to say "I Do". Millbridge Court, an exclusive use wedding venue, embraces the colder months and share some of its favourite ideas and inspirations to make winter celebrations simply enchanting.

Seasonal scents and sprigs
Bring the crisp winter air in and think scent-filled foliage adorning the aisle or table-tops and fir trees draped in fairylights sparking silently in quiet corners. A gorgeous ambience, flattering lighting and wonderful scents make for the perfect romantic winter setting. Opt for heavier linens to set the tables to add an extra touch of warmth.

Winter warms
The perfect excuse for comfort food and drink. Greet guests with a warming winter cocktail to set the scene and enjoy in the comfort of our indoor lounge. Choose well-loved classics such as mulled wine and cranberry mimosas or work with our catering partners Kalm Kitchen to create something especially for you. Cinnamon, clove spices, warm apple and a touch of bourbon are always trusty choices. When it comes to dining, hot canapes, warm circulated bowl food or carve at the table options are heartening, filling and delicious! As the sun goes down, add hot chocolate, honeycomb stationery and cheese boards.

Baby, it's cold outside
Chilly winter weddings offer the perfect excuse for even cosier, cuddled-up portrait shots. With Millbridge Court's stunning outdoor space, couple images are perfect under the Arbour or at the entrance of bridal suite, The Hideaway, with its stunning reclaimed antique gates. With a handful of romantic backdrops, ask your photographer to take some at dusk too for some more dramatic pictures. And if we can't keep the rain away, we can provide some lovely umbrellas. To keep guests warm indoors, Millbridge Court's log burner adds warmth, creates flattering lighting and smells wonderful. Add a basket of cashmere blankets to keep everyone extra toasty.

Let it glow
Use lighting cleverly to create a warm glow, romantic vibe and festive feel. Scatter tea lights across the tables, hang festoon lighting from shelving or drape fir trees in sparking fairylights. When it comes to outdoor space, use tea lights or lanterns to light up pathways and patio or garden areas.

Bright and bold
The perfect excuse to go with those richer, striking shades. Navy, cranberry, bottle green or simply darker cream shades for table linen, give a stylish nod to the season and contrast the more traditional white winter weddings. When it comes to florals, bold, deep, earthy colours combined with traditional winter foliage ooze seasonal glamour. A touch of metallic adds some sophisticated style.
