You may think that a wedding planner, organising her own wedding would find the whole experience particularly easy, and to a point, you would be correct.
However, it comes with a whole world of difficulties too – some that you may be experiencing - as Surrey's wedding specialist of Amore Star Events Gilly Keat shares...

“Do you feel an immense amount of pressure to have the Pinterest-perfect day? Or are you struggling with your guest list? Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Welcome to my world!

"Obviously it's not just my wedding, there's a wonderful fiancé too, who has his own opinions, however, he's not involved in the wedding industry.

“I've been desperate to get married since I was old enough to wrap a duvet round me, pretend it was a gown, borrow my mum's heels and pop a pillow case on my head as a veil. I'm obsessed with weddings. I love the joy and excitement that they bring and seeing how they represent each of the couples involved. I could chat weddings all day long. Becoming a wedding planner was the perfect solution, I get to help organise them and make people's ideas become a reality.

“My perfect wedding day has changed throughout the years. I often get asked what I would do if I ever got married... once upon a time, I wanted a Disney Princess castle wedding, then there was the time I considered a seaside beach wedding. I even once decided that St Paul's Cathedral was the only option and that Prince Harry would be the groom. There was also the time that I seriously thought about my fave football team's stadium!

“I've seen so many different types, styles, colours, concepts and themes that there is almost too much choice. I also felt an inordinate amount of pressure from the industry and from friends and family – I'm a wedding planner, so surely I should know exactly what I want, what to do and where to start!

"I've since worked out that the only person putting pressure on myself is me! Despite giving the following advice to each of my couples, it took me a fair few months to realise for myself that the only thing that matters is my other half and our commitment to each other. The wedding is just one day. The marriage is for a lifetime.

“So, I've decided to blog my experience of the 'wedding planner's wedding' grab a cuppa and take a pew. Feel free to get in touch if you're going through something similar, it's always lovely to hear from other brides- and grooms-to-be!"
