The Camden Watch Company Release the Magic with the No.27 Witchcraft Edition

The Camden Watch Company's new No.27 Witchcraft Edition watch

The Camden Watch Company celebrate the haunting past of Camden and Witchcraft with a new timepiece added to their No.27 range, the unisex Witchcraft Edition.

While Camden may be famous for its market and music heritage (from punk to Britpop to Winehouse), dig a deeper and you'll find it has always had a touch of the mystical about it. In the 16th and 17th centuries when Camden was still an outskirt of London, stories of witches and wise women were common.

Anneke Short, co-founder and designer of The Camden Watch Company says, "The background of Camden's magical past became the cornerstone of an idea: what if we designed a watch filled with symbolism and meaning, a kind of talisman made for daily wear? So we set about researching, digging through tomes and old books, uncovering patterns and motifs we could bring to life. Eventually, we landed on the idea of witch marks, focusing in particular on the daisy wheel - a protective symbol once carved into walls to trap evil spirits within its endless lines. To this we added crescent moons at 3 and 9, forming the Triple Goddess. It's a symbol rich with meaning, most commonly interpreted today as the Maiden, Mother, and Crone - representing life, death, and rebirth; new beginnings, nurturing, and wisdom."

Based on centuries of British folklore, weaving symbols of protection and mysticism into every detail at the heart of this timepiece lies a daisy wheel, an ancient apotropaic marking once carved into buildings to ward off evil. Flanked on either side by crescent moons, it forms the Triple Goddess — a symbol of life, death, and rebirth, and our enduring bond with nature.

On the case back, another daisy wheel appears beside the words: "An ye harm none, do what ye will." A reminder to live freely, without causing harm - and to always carry a little magic on your wrist.

It's available in a black ion-plated stainless steel case with a purple dial, and a black ion-plated stainless steel case with a silver dial. https://www.camdenwatchcompany.com
