Abbie and Jake met at the gym. "I was working there when Jake joined as a member," says Abbie. "We started talking and over time grew closer." Jake popped the question during a holiday to Thailand. "We were having dinner on the beach," shares the bride. "Afterwards, Jake got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was a big surprise, and we were both really happy." Here she shares some of her favourite moments from their day...
We decided to get married at Coltsford Mill in Oxted. We loved the look of the venue, how secluded it was and that it was easy for our friends and family to get to.
Jake and I purchased a four-tier bake from Poppy Gorgeous Cakes. It was a semi-naked design, that looked and tasted amazing.
Our table plan was a rose gold mirror engraved with our guest' names.
For our centrepieces, we chose tall stands wrapped in flowers. Our florist, Rhubarb & Bramley, was very helpful and helped me decide on a style. She incorporated light pinks and whites and created a backdrop that we placed behind our cake.
Event Décor & More decorated the venue for us. The team organised everything and gave me lots of ideas that I never would have thought of. They handled the favours, stationery, drinks stand and sweet cart and made sure I felt stress-free.
The flowers and decorations were absolutely stunning, and I was so pleased with how everything turned out. I didn't have much involvement, so seeing the room finished was a lovely surprise, and I couldn't have done better myself.
Jake and the groomsmen decided to wear navy suits with light pink ties from Debenhams.
I wore an Enzoani gown called Juri from The Wedding Dress Shop. I loved the low back and detailing around the edge of the train. I accessorised with a simple diamond necklace and matching earrings.
The bridesmaids chose floor-length pink dresses from David's Bridal.
We felt quite nervous on the morning of the wedding but once the service was out of the way we relaxed and wished we could do it all over again.
For our honeymoon, we went to Malaysia for two weeks. We relaxed on the beach, trekked through jungle and visited an orangutan sanctuary.
We hired André Saxman Brown to keep our friends and family entertained during the meal. He was absolutely amazing and played some golden oldies. In the evening, he teamed up with Eddie from Groove Time to perform some current hits.
