Harpist Fiona Hosford tells us more about her business

Fiona Hosford

Fiona Hosford is a talented harpist based in the South East of England. Her work takes her to Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, Hampshire and Berkshire, performing at weddings, corporate events, and other social events.

Fiona has been performing for more than 20 years and her repertoire ranges from classical music to light jazz and modern classics. She can cater for every musical taste and is happy to incorporate any special requests into her performance.

Fiona tells us what she's been up to over the last few years. "To help couples during the pandemic, I started hosting free nightly concerts through my Facebook page," says Fiona. "I've been continuing this ever since and have loyal and lovely followers from Germany, Australia and America, besides the UK! I like to theme each Friday night's online playing session and haven't run out of ideas yet! I was also nominated for a 'Local Hero' award in March 2020 for my online concert series by BBC Radio Sussex, which was lovely and quite unexpected! I was then given an online award in January 2021 for my 'online series' by David Taylor, who's well known throughout the classical music world.

" With quite a few weddings having to be postponed on average three times for each couple, I've made sure that all changes to details, such as venues, timings and music are given the utmost attention and this is usually done via a series of online meetings so that the couple are happy with what they've chosen musically."

House of Janneke, a new lifestyle brand, launches Book of Special Days

The Book of Special Days is a keepsake journal that gives special moments a home. This isn't a diary. There are no rules, no schedules, no need to write in it every day.  There is a page for every day of the year, but no printed years. After a special day, you find the date, add the year and write down what made it worth remembering. Over time, this book will become something more: a living archive of your days, a weave of stories across the years, a place for little joys, victories big and small, laughter shared and milestones you cherish. It holds what you don't want to forget, a trove of the ordinary and the extraordinary, all treasured alike.
