Kelly Andrews reviews The Georgian
County Wedding Magazines’ deputy managing editor Kelly Andrews went along to check out the delicious food fare on offer: “The Grade II listed building feels instantly warm and welcoming, and when combined with the Coppa Club’s own brand of stylish and modern décor it’s definitely a place I wanted to spend time in. Like the atmosphere, the welcome was also warm and I couldn’t fault the staff who were wonderfully charming and attentive. Settled at our comfy table by the the window, I was able to admire the laid-back covered garden terrace, complete with a firepit, and dining pods on the lawn. It’s just as easy to imagine balmy summer nights here accompanied by friends and a glass of Pimms, as it is cosy winter evenings snuggled around the heaters. I was already feeling pretty envious of Haselmere’s residents, for whom this community gem is on the doorstep.
“The menu is focused on European, British and Mediterranean dishes, and I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with chilli mayo small plate for starters, followed by the bucatini carbonara – hands down the best carbonara I’ve ever eaten! While my eyes may have admittedly been bigger than my belly when I ordered the truffle, pecorino fries, it nevertheless had to be done! The basque cheesecake with orange crème fraîche was for dessert and was absolutely delicious – the perfect end to a delightful meal. The highlight? This has to be the incredible cocktails. I got to sample both the innovative alcoholic and non-alcoholic options in the shape of the tiramisu and popstar martinis. The latter being a booze-free version of the much-loved pornstar martini. I loved them so much I’m sorely tempted to attempt a recreation at home!
“If you’re tying the knot in the area The Georgian, Coppa Club is definitely a place to look out for, whether it be a date night, a wedding-planning lunch with the girls, relaxed drinks curled up in front of the lounge’s log burner, a super-stylish hotel for your wedding guests, or a rehearsal dinner in the private dining room.”
