Sassys Sugar Doughnuts specialises in doughnut towers

Doughnut tower with a cake on the top

Sassys Sugar Doughnuts provides doughnut towers and walls for weddings and events and has a vintage trailer, which couples can hire, providing hot sugar and cinnamon doughnuts, sauces and sprinkles.

"I used to be a beauty therapist until lockdown hit, and I saw a vintage doughnut trailer for sale," says owner Sarah Johnson. "In January 2021, I bought it home, turned it on and started cooking hot fresh doughnuts. Within a week, we were delivering 500 of these a day through the lockdown. As lockdown came to an end we were moving to a project house, and my husband asked if I wanted a beauty treatment room again or a doughnut kitchen. I choose the doughnut kitchen, and my artisan doughnuts were created. My daughter was about to get married, and she asked me to make her wedding cake. I did a bit of research and decided to create wedding doughnuts. I went to a few exclusive venues with samples and photos, and I was lucky enough to become a supplier to hotels and wedding venues such as Pennyhill Park, Rivervale Barn, Bury Court and many more.

"I have just completed my first year of weddings and have created over 40 wedding towers and walls for brides and grooms," continues Sarah. "We can travel up to a couple of hours away for set-ups, but we have limited availability for 2023, quite a few bookings for 2024 and have started getting enquires for 2025. We work closely with you to create your dream wedding cake with a top-cutting cake if required for your photos. We've also just discovered that we're finalists for the Best Newcomer award at the SME Surrey Business Awards 2022 with the awards ceremony taking place at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in March."
