Teri Burvill is a celebrant based in Runnymede, Surrey. She tells us: "I first looked into the wonderful world of celebrancy after having my own children. Not wanting to have them christened, I knew there must be an alternative. After some research I was sold on using a celebrant. The warm nature and understanding I received and the attention to detail blew me away. I knew from that moment that I too could be that missing puzzle piece to families and that is where my celebrant journey began.

"I find that a lot of couples have never even heard of a celebrant, let alone what a celebrant can offer them for their special day. A celebrant-led ceremony is bespoke with a personal script written just for them. I take the time to get to know my couples, learn their love story from the beginning up to that point and get a snippet into what they see their future looking like.

"I love creating emotional, heartwarming and funny scripts that the guests feel like they are involved in and maybe even bring back some memories they share with the happy couple.

"There are no limits to what we can say and no boundaries to how far we go. There are no restrictions to music choices, readings and the time the ceremony takes. You can't put a time limit on a once in a lifetime memorable occasion!

"Where a registrar meets you on the day and rarely sees you again, I love that I get to build relationships and trust with my couples which has a massive impact on the smooth running and emotions on the day. There are no big surprises. The ceremony script will have been written by me but it is not perfect until the couple are 100 per cent satisfied with it. Not to forget that no venue is out of reach either! A registrar is restricted to registered venues, but a celebrant can perform a ceremony anywhere, opening up options and making dreams come true!"

Teri will be exhibiting at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club, Morden Hall, Ascot Racecourse and Mercedes Benz World over the next few months, which is the perfect opportunity to meet face-to-face and discuss your big day.
