Last year, Surrey-based jewellery designer Sally Greenwood started a Facebook page called Jewellery By Design and hasn’t looked back!

"I make many items of jewellery using precious gem stones, beads, crystals and pearls,” shares Sally. ”I also make phone and bag charms, bookmarks, celebratory baby pins and bridal pins, and my little guardian angels (every girl needs one!) along with seasonal Christmas decorations.

“As a nurse with an accomplished and fulfilling career I began making jewellery as a hobby. I found working with all the fabulous gem stone beads and crystals that are available very enjoyable offering endless,creative possibilities! The most exciting thing is that the beautiful piece I have made with love can be shared for someone else to enjoy.

“Last year I was excited to hold my own jewellery making workshop at Chessington Garden Centre for a lovely group of like-minded ladies who all went home with a necklace, bracelet and earrings they'd proudly created with my help – we had a lot of fun along the way!

“I was hugely honoured last year to be asked to make a Chan Lu style pearl bracelet for my new daughter-in-law to wear on her wedding day using her grandmother's treasured pearls. I made further coordinating bracelets in this design in navy and cream pearls an crystals for the bridesmaids gifts.

“I'd love to work with brides to make a gorgeous item of jewellery for their special day, I can also advise about items for the bridesmaids, flowergirls, mother-of-the-bride and -groom and any other guests who want a special piece of occasion jewellery to complement their fabulous wedding outfit. What a privilege and how gratifying for me to be woven into the memories of a bride's joyous, perfect day – I can promise you original, unique pieces made with love to suit all budgets.”
