Sensory retreat launches new self-heating eye masks

With stress levels and sleep deprivation on the rise, there couldn’t be a better time to invest in a self-heating eye mask to revive, refresh and relax weary souls.

When beauty entrepreneur Clare Anderson launched Sensory Retreats at the start of this year she had no idea how apt her services would become. Creating spa treatments and at-home products that incorporate all five senses - sight, sound, smell, taste and touch - Clare fused natural ingredients with mindful experiences and powerful massage techniques to produce a range of deeply restorative treatments. However just as quickly as the business launched, it was put on pause as the pandemic hit. But rather than waiting for spas to reopen Clare brainstormed how she could still create some of the same results at home. The result was Divine Eyes - self-heating eye masks infused with lavender.

With specially designed hoops that sit close to the face and eyes, the masks emit a gentle heat for a minimum of 25 minutes making them perfect for popping on just before bed or at moments when you feel your stress levels rising. It might feel indulgent spending half of your lunch break with an eye mask on but if you’re still working from home, it makes perfect sense. Fast forwarding you into a rest and digest state, it’s a well-deserved stop gap between a busy morning and afternoon schedule. And far more practical than running yourself a bath to decompress.

Made from super soft pure cotton, the heat also helps to smooth the skin so as well as feeling rested, you’ll look like you’ve had an extra hour or so under the covers too. The masks also come with a link to an exclusive Crystal Sound Healing soundtrack to encourage a deeper state of relaxation and if you light a candle beforehand, you’re ticking off sound, smell and touch - some of the senses Clare was so eager to treat.

Snapped up by frazzled consumers as well as independent therapists who wanted to give their clients something extra special when treatments resumed, the latest edition to launch is Luna Eyes to help lull you to sleep while plans are in place for Revive Eyes to launch early next year. Swapping the calming lavender aroma for a new citrus-scent it will act as a pick-me-up when dark nights are getting the better of you.

CWM beauty editor Kelly Andrews says,
"Given I stare at two computer screens all day long, I was super excited to try these warming eye masks for a touch of relief. It's a simple thing, but I love the fact that the mask attaches with two straps that loop comfortably around the ears rather than one that goes around the back of the head. It makes them so comfortable as you lie back on a comfy pillow... and doesn't mess up your hair! The mask heats up fairly quickly, and it's a soothing experience as it gently starts to warm the sore and tired eye area. I'd certainly recommend keeping a box of these handy for days when you just need to take some 'me time' to relax and recentre."
