Hello Surrey! I’m so excited to take up the editor reigns for Your Surrey Wedding! Having worked on a few County Wedding titles over the years, I’ve loved creating my first issue for you guys – hearing from local couples, finding out about the gorgeous venues in and around the county and meeting so many helpful big-day suppliers. We’re lucky that Surrey’s brimming with super-creatives, who design, make, and sell gorgeous products right here on your doorstep. If you want to support local businesses to enhance your big day, head to page 55 to read all about them.
You might just be starting to make plans, or well on the way and feeling organised. Either way, we’ve got a wealth of wedding planning top tips on page 49 to help you on your journey, as well local pros answering your big-day woes on page 79.
As always, this issue’s oozing with inspiration with three stunning real weddings from page 31, we’ve secured some top offers for you on page 13 and head to page 19 onwards for venues galore. Morden Hall
Perfectly situated beside the River Wandle in 125 acres of National Trust parkland, with beautifully landscaped gardens and lawns, Morden Hall is a picturesque and tranquil setting. Built in 1770s and lovingly restored in 2015, this venue’s been brought into the present day without losing the heart of its elegant history. This 18th-century house exudes elegance, charm and sophistication with a real sense of character.
There’s a collection of stunning spaces to use in the morning whilst you’re preparing for your big day and ceremonies take place inside the venue and outside on the lawns. At the very heart of Morden Hall is the light-filled Willow room, seating up to 120 for your ceremony, with views over the lawn and the River Wandle. The Mulberry Suite with its high vaulted ceiling, seats up to 150 guests for a wedding breakfast, and it accommodates larger ceremonies too. Outside, the lawns are a fantastic location for ceremonies and can easily be adapted for large or intimate party sizes. A beautiful backdrop to accompany your vows.
Once you’ve said ‘I do’ your reception can then be started on the lawns immediately outside the doors of the Willow Suite, followed by a wedding breakfast in the Mulberry Suite. During the wedding breakfast, the Willow Suite will be transformed to an evening reception space, complete with DJ or live entertainment.
