Before I tied the knot, several of my friends warned me about the wedding blues – the feeling of sadness once the big day is over. It’s a strange feeling when something you’ve been planning for months or sometimes even years is over in the blink of an eye. To help avoid this, my hubby and I jetted off on our honeymoon to Greece a few days after the wedding. It was wonderful getting to spend quality time with each other, relaxing on the beach and exploring the sights. Having this time together meant we didn’t really feel a sense of sadness that the day was over and it extended our wedding bubble a little bit longer.

The Talbot
The Talbot is a 500-year-old property situated between Heathrow and Gatwick. Located just 30 minutes from Central London, the venue has on-site parking facilities, 43 modern bedrooms, a restaurant, a cosy bar, distinctive period features, a river close by and an impressive archway that leads to a charming courtyard.
Small celebrations take place in The Garden Room, Emma’s Room or the Victory Suite.
The versatile Wisley Suite is also available. This self-contained area has high ceilings, chandeliers and space for 100 day guests and 80 for a sit-down meal.
Boasting original beams and heaps of character, the 15th-century Surrey Barns can be used separately or in conjunction with the Wisley Suite for up to 150 friends and family. The barn also has a wooden bar with poser tables and a separate dining area.

| Wotton House Country Estate has been named Best Wedding Venue in Surrey |
| |
Wotton House Country Estate near Dorking has been named the winner of the coveted Best Wedding Venue in Surrey by Muddy Stilettos, and it's not hard to see why. The venue boasts Grade II listed gardens designed in the 16th century by John Evelyn, the famous diarist and horticulturalist. Couples can exchange vows in the 13 acres of gardens, which include Roman-style temples and formal gardens with fountains, or in the stunning chapel-style Library, with its Gothic vaulted ceilings and pillars. The hotel has several luxurious bedrooms and junior suites, a restaurant and bar, as well as an on-site pool and leisure facilities for guests.
