De Vere Horsley Estate has recently undergone a multi-million-pound transformation

De Vere Horsley Estate located in Surrey – part of De Vere’s collection – has revealed the results of a £2 million refurbishment to its iconic Horsley Towers, the mansion house featured in Netflix’s historical drama, The Crown.
 
The renovation programme involved a complete overhaul of interiors throughout Horsley Towers, which have been transformed to bring them in line with De Vere’s distinctly British aesthetic. Horsley Towers now features a relaxed and contemporary reception and communal areas with soft floral and geometric patterns, tweeds and accents of royal blue. In bedrooms, tan leather furniture, tweeds and a muted heritage colour palette combine with contemporary lighting and sleek bathrooms to create spaces that are comfortable and stylish.
 
In addition, the refurbishment has seen the event spaces in Horsley Towers, including the iconic Great Hall, renovated to ensure the property retains many of its original features dating back to 1822. With 14 flexible event spaces available, which contribute to De Vere Horsley Estate’s overall 49 meeting and event space offering, Horsley Towers lends itself perfectly to both weddings and events for up to 120 guests and can be hired out exclusively alongside the surrounding grounds.

Steeped in history, the 19th-century mansion house was designed by Sir Charles Barry, who designed the Houses of Parliament and Highclere Castle. The estate was originally the marital home of Lord Bryon’s daughter, Ada Lovelace, regarded as one of the world's first computer programmers. The estate’s rich history is evident throughout, from the stunning original features to quirky décor, which includes subtle nods to Sir Charles Barry and his architectural work.
