Jessie May Smart, seasoned wedding violinist, and collaborator with artists such as Elbow, Nile Rodgers, Katie Melua, and Steeleye Span, talks about her latest offering to engaged couples; a way of keeping those wedding memories forever.
"Every time I smell Italian grisini (you know, those yummy skinny authentic breadsticks) I'm taken back to being age five in Italy. It was my first time abroad and I was wide-eyed and in heaven," shares Jessie. "We all know that our senses are a superlink to our memories, but one sense that is often overlooked is hearing. The piece of music by Mascagni that the string quartet was playing in the chapel as I pulled up in my wedding car to get married will be forever embedded in my memory, and take me back to that feeling of excitement, emotion, and butterflies that really can't be adequately described with words.
"That is why I've decided to offer couples a recording of their ceremony music as a memento; so those joyous and important moments can be relived time and again through the music that was playing. I have a lovely studio setup with a fabulous Coles ribbon mic (if you know, you know), and record the bridal entrance, signing of the register, and recessional pieces, as I played them in the ceremony, for couples to keep forever.
"This is usually an add-on, but for the lovely readers of Your Surrey Wedding, I'm including this as a gift to those who book before the end of July."
