I have worked with brides and bridal parties for six years now and absolutely love my job. Amongst working in fashion, beauty, tv and film, bridal is my favourite area to work in as I get to make everyone feel their absolute best on an amazing day. I work with an array of high-end brands to find the perfect products that suit each person's skin tone, texture and type.
“You don’t marry the person you can live with, you marry the person you can’t live without.”
Teresa’s most favourite hair artistry in the whole world is doing bridal/wedding hair. “I’m such a hopeless romantic, and I love nothing more than the journey with the bride on the lead-up to her wedding and on her special day.“
It can be daunting not knowing where to start with the amount of choice that's out there, but here are a few helpful explanations of what's available.
Primers: These prep your skin to ensure a flawless and smooth base that will keep your make-up in place all day.
Concealer and foundation: Whether you wear it every day or just for special occasions, it's good to have a liquid foundation or compact powder on hand to even out your skin tone. These come in many finishes from sheer to full coverage. Cream concealers are generally used to hide blemishes and under-eye circles.

Looking back at my wedding 13 years ago, I now realise how much trends have changed. I'm seeing more relaxed hairstyles such as loose tousled curls full of volume that are fluid and move freely. The most popular request is the half up and half down style with lots of twists and turns to add softness around the face. Another on-trend look is a low, simple wrapped bun. Less is most definitely more in 2022. Make-up requests have been focusing on a nude blush colour palette and applied in such a way to naturally enhance the eye shape.

I understand it can be overwhelming when it comes to choosing your bridal make-up, especially when you want to look like yourself and not a completely different person. Enhancing your beauty with mineral products will make you feel comfortable and confident in your own skin. Have a bridal trial and try out different styles and find the perfect look for you. Skin with a healthy, natural glow can easily be achieved with a good skincare routine. Serums and creams from brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown will instantly transform your skin.

You could have so much fun with a 'Very Peri' look, just as Lady Gaga did at the House of Gucci UK premiere back in November. Go for periwinkle blue hues with violet-red undertones. Try a cool matte lavender eyeshadow, such as Shale or Scene by MAC, and if you're feeling adventurous, you could add a pop of shimmer with NARS Hardwired Eyeshadow in Argentina or Lunar. Add a flick of gel eyeliner or a smudge in a grungy Kohl liner and keep your lips muted with nude, matt lipstick or a subtle shimmery pale lipgloss.

How can I incorporate our winter theme into my hair and make-up? "Two options spring to my mind. Use options like russet, gold and deep red on your eyes and lips finished with a red velvet cape. Alternatively, for a complete contrast, you could opt for ice whites and blues. Frosty hues on your eyes topped with a white velvet cape is a fun way to create a snowy princess-inspired look." Skin gets dry in the winter because it's more likely to lose moisture in the cold air. The environment zaps moisture from the skin, leaving it flaky, sensitive and it can be tight and itchy as well. The elements interfere with the skin's tolerance and upset its hydrophilic film. Reinforce its natural deferences by visiting a skincare clinic for facials to replenish moisture, vitamins and antioxidants. A good home remedy would be a nourishing sheet mask once a week in between any facials.
