How to look after your skin this winter

Couple on their wedding day

Q – I  have an outdoor job, and my skin really suffers in the winter. How can I repair the ravages of the cold and wind in time for my spring wedding?

"Skin gets dry in the winter because it’s more likely to lose moisture in the cold air. The environment zaps moisture from the skin, leaving it flaky, sensitive and it can be tight and itchy as well.

"The elements interfere with the skin’s tolerance and upset its hydrophilic film. Reinforce its natural deferences by visiting a skincare clinic for facials to replenish moisture, vitamins and antioxidants.

"A good home remedy would be a nourishing sheet mask once a week in between any facials.

"Invest in a rich night oil to use under your face creams. My all- time favourite is Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil. It sinks in beautifully, smells heavingly and doesn’t leave any oily residue."
