Bijou Wedding Venues has put in place new safety measures for guests visiting their hotels

Bijou Wedding Venues is a family run business with a portfolio of five venues that usually hosts around 250 weddings a year. The family have been planning and delivering weddings for more than 20 years and have a wealth of expertise in offering a truly special day.

Sam Cutmore Scott, the MD of Bijou Wedding Venues tells us: “We are disappointed to hear the new restrictions that have been placed on wedding size. It doesn’t make sense to allow more people to attend a funeral than to attend a wedding, particularly when wedding venues like ours are 100 per cent Covid-secure. We have proven that we can meet the tough requirements for safe and successful weddings to be held and we urge the government to rethink their policy on how many can attend a wedding and bring it in to line with the 30 persons allowed at funerals.”

"The new Covid measures that we have added include; installation of state-of-the-art (airport quality) ANT Telecom temperature reading cameras to test all staff and guest temperatures on arrival and seating of guests to allow for social distancing in line with government guidelines.

"Installation of marquees and gazebos to facilitate holding elements of the day outdoors and provision of “outdoor” ceremonies whenever possible. We've also created new innovative ways of serving drinks and food: such as evening buffets table-served in street food style boxes rather than buffets & one-way systems to ensure no crossover among waiter teams.

"Screening of ceremonies live in different areas of the building and on conference calls for additional guests to watch if needed and general benefits of dedicated exclusive hire wedding venues – already set up for full cleaning and sanitisation between each event – hugely different to hotels etc where there are constant flows of people."
