Slice of paradise in the South Downs National Park and Surrey Hills

Slice of paradise in the South Downs National Park and Surrey Hills: Image 1

The Merry Harriers is proud to offer guests their own slice of paradise within the calm of the South Downs National Park and Surrey Hills.

The epitome of the glamping experience, five beautifully designed Shepherd's Huts surround a tranquil pond and enjoy stunning views to the Surrey Hills beyond.

The luxury Huts capture perfectly the spirit of the Merry Harriers – delightfully quirky and uplifting, yet supremely comfortable and wonderfully relaxing. And with the addition of three new stylish Garden Rooms, they bring the total room count at the quintessentially English inn to fifteen (five luxury Shepherd's Huts, six Garden Rooms, and four lovely rooms in the Inn).

Thoughtful amenities and facilities in the Huts offer a bucolic getaway year round – underfloor heating, wood burning stove, hot water bottle, and homemade brownies will comfort you in the winter months; summer visitors can enjoy the teak sun loungers surrounding the picturesque pond and fields beyond, individual fire pits and the fridge complete with complimentary bottle of rosé wine.
Additionally the joyfully colourful de Savary interiors, ensuite bathroom with large shower, luxury toiletries, the finest Egyptian cotton bed linen, small kitchenette for tea and coffee making, nespresso machine, hairdryer, television, generous storage and a great number of attentive details offer the most refreshing of stays.

Garden Rooms set back from the pretty lawns and terraces of the traditional 16th-century inn provide further dog-friendly luxury accommodation – the highlight being room number 7, with double doors opening onto a secluded outdoor seating area, overlooking the paddock and the herd of 12 friendly llamas. Watch the setting sun over the Surrey Hills in front of your private firepit, glass of rosé to hand, or settle in next to the wood burning stove for a game of chess - early evenings in the Shepherds Huts are magical. Then head over to the traditional and welcoming village inn for some fabulous local ales or house garden cider, delicious food and excellent company.

The Shepherd's Huts offer a romantic country getaway for a couple or a fun escape for groups of ten family or friends. Combine with a fabulous llama trek for an unforgettable experience, a mere 50 minutes from London.
