Fancy a festive fox trot, or perhaps a Christmas jingle jive? Emma Harris of Surrey-based First Dance Ltd advises on how to pick your winter wedding first dance track...
Q: We're planning our winter wedding and we'd love our first dance to have a festive tune. What music do you think would work well?
A: Emma says: There are a number of great pieces of music you can use for your festive first dance. I choreographed The Christmas Waltz a couple of years ago and the Kristin Chenoweth version really is magical. You can't go wrong with the Mariah Carey favourite All I Want for Christmas is You as that can work as a little jive.
Have a look at the Michael Bublé Christmas album or look at artists such as Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald or Bing Crosby for something a bit more traditional. Sam Smith has done a great version of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and The Jackson 5 have some cracking Christmas numbers as well.
You don't need to necessarily use a Christmas piece for music, you could look at something like Christina Perri A Thousand Years as this would add a big of festive magic too. Just remember to choose a piece of music that you love as you will listen to it a lot!
